Gallerie 8 Projects

Hello!

We happy very proud to announce that from November 1st until January 31st 2011 Louis de Gama has been selected by Gallerie 8 Projects to be part of a unique exhibition called:

Intimate Spaces

Intimate Spaces is a group exhibition installed throughout the interior and exterior spaces of a four-floor townhouse in the heart of London Fields.

Using painting, photography, sculpture, installation, textiles and video, this diverse group of artists evoke a sense of longing, inviting you to embrace the allure of the domestic environment while reflecting the ever-changing world in which we live.

Through using the technologies, narratives and medium of the past, the exhibition ultimately elicits a sense of nostalgia and evokes a sens of intimacy, here inhabiting a house to create a home filled with images and ideas.

Intimate Spaces brings together sixteen artists; including the photographer Jessa Fairbrother, the artist Adam King and Andy Warhol.

Amongst these brilliant artists, Louis de Gama will be showing his hand-crafted garments composed of found vintage laces and fabrics, creating a contemporary romantic vision that blurs the past and present.

Hope this makes you wanna see the exhibition!

Barcelona...te quiero

Hey

Just got back from Barcelona for the Pink Tank "City Window" project launch. We had a blast!

Quick reminder about the event. Louis De Gama along with 4 other London designers including Vivienne Westwood, Sophia Kokosalaki and Felder-Felder has been selected by one of the biggest departement store in Spain called ' Bulevard Rosa' to take part of a project called " City Window".
Basically, they selected vibrant designers from London , New York and Paris to represent Fashion in their countries to the spanish customers.

For more information about the event www.facebook.com/bulvardrosa.

Now enough with the talking, enjoy...

David Delfin and Silvia Prada.

David is one of the most popular spanish young designer. He created Davidelfin brand in 2001 with 4 partners based on the expression of their needs involving fashion, photography, architecture and video. Since February 2009, he is showing his collections in the New York fashion week. David is also DJs in his spare time.

Louis and the Felder Felder sister. No need to introduce them, the best thing is to run to Liberty or Brown Focus to buy their latest looks before the shops are sold out!

Back from Rendez-Vous, Paris

We are back from Paris!

We had such a good weekend at the Rendez-Vous tradeshow.

We had a lot of interest from buyers and met so many other amazing designers showing from all over the world.

Representing 'Brits in Paris'

This is what the rest of Rendez-Vous looked like, ranging from accessory to fashion designers.

As you can see from the pictures our stand looked pretty good, the vintage lace and silk dresses seemed to grab everyones attention. It wouldn't have been a 'Louis de Gama' show without his trademark vintage photo frame on display.

After a tiring Eurostar homebound with all 62 pieces from the collection and hangers in tow we made it to London last night.

Back to the studio for Louis de Gama, no rest for the wicked...

Sunday 3 October 2010

Bonjour,

Press Release : Louis de Gama for PINK TANK Concept POP UP Store, Barecelona

Louis de Gama has been selected to take part in a prestigious Pop Up concept store in Barcelona.
Louis is one of four designers to take part in a month long event celebrating the work of British fashion. He will be showing a selection of timeless pieces from his collections, which are also available to purchase.Barcelona will, for the first time, be able to see the unique mix of Louis’ tailored femininity handcrafted from silks, chiffons and lace, paired with fine leathers. Pieces from his much loved S/S 10 collection, which was inspired by the shape of animal eyes, demonstrate his ability to create a bodice of structured leathers combined with the innate use of voluminous layers of chiffon. Louis will also be showcasing one off pieces for the event.

The Pop Up concept store is to open in October, lasting three months. Designers from Paris and New York will also be participating in the following months.

What's to come in S/S 11...

We've all been working really hard in the studio on the Spring Summer 2011 Collection!
Here is a sneak peak at what's to come....
let me know what you think.
